Focus with cards the whole deck of one card. How to turn one card into another

How to turn one card into another

You can turn one card into another or change its suit. For example, the king of spades can become the king of hearts. To do this, you only need to change the point in the corner of the map. This can be achieved with a double card. In this case, that part of the middle side is cut out, on which there should be a point. The back card is glued to the front only at the edges, it is completely white, only in its upper corner there is a point, for example, a spade. This point will be visible in the hole made in the top card, and due to this the card will change its suit.

Between these two cards is a movable plate, driven by a pin passing through the back side, on which (meaning the plate) a red point is drawn. By setting this plate in motion, you place a red point in front of the hole that borders the spade point. This makes the card look like a king of hearts.

If you have modern cards, then in this case both spectacle parts on the front card are cut out. And on the card lying under this card a spade point is drawn.

A movable plate of such a shape and size that it can cover either the top or the middle of the card. If such a plate is moved up, then the card becomes a spade suit, if this plate is lowered, then the peak point of the back card opens, and the plate closes its red point. Moreover, the card will depict the king of spades.

Such a mechanical map can be used by most different ways. For example, it fits perfectly into focus with a card “coming out” of the deck. In this case, the mechanical card must be one of the "coming out" cards and depict the king of hearts.

When you summon the King of Hearts, a mechanical card will appear showing the King of Spades. You are surprised to ask the viewer if he really chose the king of hearts. Since the viewer will insist on her own, then you, as if tired of arguing, agree to turn her into the king of worms.

With these words, you take a card and hold it with your middle and thumb, touching its front side with a magic wand and at the same time with your index finger, move the plate. In this case, the card turns into the king of hearts. But you can further notice that the viewer is still mistaken and, in order not to spoil the deck with two kings, you will again turn it into the king of spades. What do you do with your magic wand.

Another way to use mechanical cards involves the use of cardboard boxes, which are described above. In this case, we need two mechanical cards. One of them, made in the form of the king of spades, is hidden in one box in advance, and the other, in the form of the king of hearts, is in another.

Two spectators are invited to choose one card each. You force two ordinary kings of the corresponding suits with it. After taking cards from the audience and showing the boxes so that they look empty, you place a card in each of them. Moreover, you put the king of hearts in the box with the king of spades and vice versa.

You close both boxes and order both cards to switch places. By opening the boxes, you demonstrate obedience to the cards. Then say:

“You probably think that these boxes are made so cleverly. To prove to you that this is not so, I will again order the cards to change places, but this time I will not put them in boxes, but only take one in each hand. If you are careful enough, you will see how the cards fly from one hand to another. Notice that I have the King of Spades in my right hand and the King of Hearts in my left. One two Three!"

You accompany these words with a kick and the movement of cards.

“Did you see how they flew? Here is the king of hearts in my right hand, and the king of spades was in my left, and I put each one in my box.

You put each card in the box that it previously occupied, and again make the transformation without locking the boxes. You continue:

"Take the trouble to notice in which box I put which card: the king of hearts in the box on the right, and the king of spades in the box on the left."

The audience agrees with you.

“Excuse me,” you say, “I think you made a mistake. You may not have noticed that the cards have changed places again. You demonstrate to everyone that this is indeed the case, and then close the boxes so that the originally selected cards are on top.

Opening the boxes, you show that they have changed places again, say:

“I have already proved to you that the secret of the trick is not in the boxes. Perhaps you would like to examine the cards themselves?”

With these words, you give the cards to the spectators for inspection.

Figure 18.

The transformation of one card into another can also be achieved with the help of a "flip" card. This is a map, across which in the middle is attached a movable plate of half its size. When the plate is folded in one direction, it covers the top of the card, flipping it in the other direction, you close the bottom half of it.

Let the lady of clubs (whose back side is cut off) be pasted on one of these halves, and nine tambourines, made in the same way, on the other.

Such a card will alternately be the queen of clubs, then the nine of tambourines, depending on where the plate is bent. The rubber band tends to bend it down so that in the normal position the card becomes the nine of tambourines. When you show the card to the audience, the plate is folded in the opposite direction so that the card becomes the queen of clubs.

You can hold the rubber band with your thumb and forefinger until the appropriate moment. If the pressure stops, then the plate will rise, and the card will immediately turn into a nine of diamonds.

The first ones are wider and, accordingly, have a larger shear surface. If you are a beginner, we advise you to purchase several different decks and choose the one that seems most convenient to you.

For this trick you must prepare your cards. For these cards, the edge should not differ from the rest of the cards. Front side cards is shown in Figure 1.

These cards are placed at the bottom of the deck. You tell the audience that you are ready to show me a trick with four eights and a two of tambourines. If you have a deck of 32 cards, then you should have another two of diamonds, similar to a card from the deck.

You take a deck and look for four ordinary eights in it. While the audience is looking at them, you separate the three lower prepared cards from the steel deck with the little finger of your left hand. When the spectators return the eights to you, you put them on top of the pack, but the eight of clubs must be on top. You give the deuce of tambourines to the audience for looking at.

While the audience is looking at the two of tambourines, you make a volt so that the prepared cards are at the top of the deck. When the two of tambourines are returned to you, you put the cards on the table and, taking the top four cards, unfold them like a fan, as shown in Figure 2. As you can see, only the eight of clubs is clearly visible, and half of the remaining cards are covered by others. It seems to the audience that these are the same eights that you just put on top of the deck.

Now you put the two of diamonds behind the eight of clubs and put this card upside down on the table. Fold and unfold the cards, as in Figure 3, i.e. unfold the cards from the other end. The audience sees four deuces.

Again, we replace the eight of clubs with a two of tambourines and turn over the false two of hearts. This can be done with the words: I must touch something black. I'll use the sleeve of my jacket. I will run each card down the sleeve and put it back in its place. This makes all cards black.” And you unfold the cards, as in Figure 4. The audience really sees only the cards of the black suit.

Again, put the two of tambourines instead of the eight of clubs, touch something red and turn the cards over, as in Figure 5. Putting the eight of clubs again in place of the two of tambourines, you put four cards back into the deck, make a volt so that all the prepared cards are at the bottom, and the usual eights lay on top.

You can prepare a variety of special cards for such tricks. For example, one card may have different suits and figures. But it seems to us that this impairs the focus somewhat, because the more improbable transformations increase the suspicion that special cards are being used.

During the trick, we talked several times about the need to turn the cards over without arousing suspicion among the audience. To do this, you need to hold the cards in a fan in your left hand. The thumb of this hand should be on the front side of the cards, and the rest on the back. After showing the cards, you turn them over to face you, and fold the fan with the thumb and forefinger of your right hand. After that, taking them by the upper end, put them face down on the table. Now their lower ends are farther away from you and you just have to take the cards by the ends that are closer to you. This simple technique should be well practiced because it is the basis of this trick.

How to give the audience a choice of one card, and then make a random card from the deck turn into one of the selected cards

Take the deck and invite any of the spectators to choose a card. You must know this card, so when the spectator returns it to you, then you put your little finger on it and use the volt technique so that the card is at the bottom of the deck. Then make a fake shuffle in the first way, so that the card remains at the bottom. Next, make a volt again and move the card to the middle of the deck. After that, you force the card to three spectators in turn, while doing a fake shuffle each time. Let's call this card A, this card remains in the hands of the last to choose. Now you need to shuffle the deck for real, since this card is not in the deck. After shuffling the cards, you again invite any of the spectators to choose a card, let's call it B. Open the deck and ask them to put cards in it. First, the spectator with card B should do this, and the spectator with card A should put it on top. You should transfer these cards to the top using the reception of volts, and then you should hide them in the palm of your hand. Then you give any spectator to shuffle the deck. The spectator shuffles the deck, returns it to you, you place the hidden cards on top of the deck. Then, after a little deliberation, you take as many cards from above as the number of cards chosen by the spectators. These cards will include A and B. Next, you show these 4 cards to each of those who chose the card and ask him to say if his card is among these cards, but without naming it. Spectators confirm that there is a map. You put these cards in different parts of the deck, while you put the selected cards in the middle together, and then, using the volt, you transfer them to the top of the deck. Then you again offer to choose a card for any of the spectators, let's call it C. Showing this card to two other spectators who chose, you ask them: "Your card?". You will be told that this is a different card. You change this card according to the first method of replacing cards with the top one. Thus, you have card A in your hand, B is on top of the deck, and C is on the bottom of the deck. You ask without showing card A: "Is this your card?" The viewer confirms that he was wrong. Then you lightly blow on the card and say that it was his card a minute ago, and now it has turned into a card of this spectator and turn to the second spectator. This spectator says the card is his. To a third spectator, you also show the card and ask him to look at the back of the card before he gives confirmation. Then you say that everyone has already recognized their cards and at the same time change card A to B. After that, the spectator who chose card B will say that you did not show him the card. You get embarrassed and ask what card he had. You receive an answer and ask him to look at the card in your hand, turning it over, you confirm that this card has turned into his card. Now you need to change the card in your hand to any card of the deck and say: "Each of you saw your card, but no one chose this card," and show the audience the card that you hold in your hand.
In this and in any other trick that is based on forcing a card, it can happen that the spectator takes another card. This point can be easily corrected. As you remember, the first card is chosen completely freely, then you must draw the attention of the audience to this fact, therefore, before performing the trick, you must let several spectators shuffle the deck. When a card is chosen, suggest that the chooser take another card if he has doubts about the freedom to choose a card. It doesn't matter if the viewer accepted your offer or not, but your interest in any particular card will be proven. If you were unable to force a card for the second spectator, then leave the captured card in the spectator's hand and try to force card A to the next spectator. The card that was left in the hands of the previous spectator, you must turn into card B, as well as in the previous description. If the forcing of the card failed for the second time, then you again replace it with card C. On this card you need to complete the trick.
