Carrier UV lamp for garage. Useful do-it-yourself garage accessories

The price of popular Chinese lamp carriers for the garage clearly does not match the quality. The wire is instantly frayed, the light bulb and the case are instantly heated - there are many minuses. But convenient carrying for the garage is not difficult at all. Details are needed at a minimum, and the quality of lighting and ease of use are much higher than those of Chinese consumer goods.

If you buy a carrier with energy-saving lamps, then there is a significant minus. When such a lantern breaks, especially in a viewing hole during small work, mercury vapor remains in the room for a long time.

Conventional incandescent bulbs eat a lot, and they have to be changed often. In addition, the case heats up quickly and such lamps are completely unsuitable for carrying. Another story is modern LEDs and fluorescent lamps. The question is which option to choose for carrying.

Fluorescent lamps - advantages and disadvantages

Power consumption is low, long service life, but by the end of the service life, the luminous flux becomes extremely low, almost twice. Flickering and low light causes severe eye strain when working in the garage, so it is not recommended to use such carriers all the time. They are good when carrying is needed exclusively for one-time work.

Since all these lamps contain mercury components, it is not advisable to use them for a carrying lamp.

Gas-filled lamps

They consume a little electricity, five times less than incandescent lamps, but the brightness quickly decreases. The service life is three years. It is better to choose such lamps to replace conventional incandescent lamps, when it is easier to make normal light in the garage than to fool around with wires and carrying.

LEDs

Choose LEDs with warm white light for the garage, the E27, G13 base is the most economical and convenient option.

Lamps that are optimal for carrying and options for stationary lighting:

  • if you need to make the light norms. throughout the garage, then choose LED lamps M-40/42 (passage). This is an analogue of fluorescent lamps with IP65 protection. These lamps are resistant to dirty work in the garage - dust and moisture. Power - 40 W;
  • for carrying it is necessary to select LEDs with an angle of illumination that can be adjusted (up to 75 degrees). The power supply of such bulbs is from a 24V block;
  • Line Light diodes with a power of 14W do not heat up quickly and provide optimal local illumination;
  • The strip of diodes for emergency lighting can also be powered by a battery (12V). Choose a warm white spectrum, such a tape (60 LEDs) consumes only 4.8 watts;
  • when carrying an LED light bulb, it is better to put a “corn” type with white light;
  • Osram 4000k fluorescent lamps at 40W in combination with Epra at 57W (at 40W there will be little illumination) - the light is just super for painting and inspection pit.

Another story is a clothespin flashlight. And your hands are free, and you do not have to fiddle with the lighting angle and wires.

We offer several options for simple and effective designs of portable lamps for the garage.

Carrying aluminum profile and diodes

Required accessories:

  • rectangular profile (aluminum) - length 40 cm, the choice of length depends on the number of bulbs. You can take shorter - 20 - 30 cm;
  • hook for fastening (butterfly);
  • drill for metal;
  • 1 Volt LED lamps - from 4 to 6 pieces;
  • glue for fastening lamps is better to choose conductive heat;
  • collimator lenses - by the number of bulbs. Take an angle wider than sixty degrees;
  • LED driver with galvanic isolation, such drivers are designed for a large number of light bulbs (up to 7 led by 1w);
  • rubber cable - five meters;
  • fork;
  • double-sided adhesive tape for cellular displays, ordinary construction tape is not suitable and any sealant;
  • a piece of cast plexiglass;
  • a few mounting screws.

The order of assembly of carrying on LEDs:

  • in the profile we cut out holes for the lenses of the desired diameter;
  • in the top panel of our carrier we make holes for attaching the hook, according to the diameter of the bolts;
  • fix the hook from the end of the case.

Advice. Choose a hook with a spring mechanism, so it is more convenient to fix the carrier at the desired angle. The spring additionally prevents the body from rotating while suspended.

  • it is better not to save on lamps, choose goods from trusted manufacturers;
  • we connect the LEDs by soldering, it is undesirable to twist the contacts. It is better not to install a substrate under the LED in a standard metal profile, since the lens will be above the profile;
  • cut out a protective panel of the desired size from plexiglass;
  • we fix the LEDs on heat-conducting glue, insert the lenses and fix them with plexiglass;
  • so that the glue grabs well, the entire structure can be wrapped with threads and left for 24 hours;
  • now you need to securely fasten the cable to the profile so that it does not fly out during operation. You can solder the edge of the cable with additional textolite, twisting the cable alone will not be enough.

Important. Buy a rubber cable for homemade carrying. It is more durable and practical, easily endures severe frosts and twists less.

  • additionally, the cable in the profile must be fixed with any sealant, it will dry for a long time - two days;
  • we fasten the hook to the profile with bolts, for better tightness we put the bolts on silicone sealant;
  • glue adhesive tape in two layers on the profile, insert right amount lenses;
  • now you can remove the top protective film of the adhesive tape and fix the protective plexiglass;
  • the driver can be mounted directly on the plug, so choose the right size plug that can be punched to mount the driver.

It may be easier to make a normal light in the garage, but carrying is still needed for minor work in the pit under the body and under the hood, without it in any way.

Even if six watts is twilight in the garage, it is enough to have good lighting in the desired area.

Ice carrying, cigarette lighter powered

Quite good lighting can also be made from a battery, for this you can make a simple 12 V carrying. This is ideal if the carrying is needed solely for a quick repair under the hood.

For such a lamp you need a few accessories:

  • body from an old fluorescent lamp;
  • ice lamps on SOV 84 LEDs - 2 pieces, 17 cm long, from daytime running lights to the car;
  • glue the diodes to the case;
  • the assembled plate with the lamps is placed in the light diffuser of the ceiling;
  • we fix the cord with a roll or can be fixed firmly by soldering a plastic plug;
  • it remains to connect the wires to the power supply (DC to 12V).

At a voltage of 600 mA, the output power of such a carrier is 7.2 W, even if it is twilight in the garage, such a lamp gives more light than a conventional 220 W fluorescent ceiling lamp.

You can connect the carrier to any DC power supply of 1 Amp (220/12). If you solder the connector, it can work well from the cigarette lighter in the car.

Easy carry that doesn't break

And if you need to make the simplest transfer quickly, then this option is also possible:

  • energy-saving light bulb (11 W or more;
  • a plastic bottle with a wide mouth so that the cartridge is firmly screwed in;
  • cartridge, cord with plug.

We cut a hole on one side of the bottle, the size of an energy-saving lamp, it is better to take a flat lamp, so the luminous flux is greater. We insert the cartridge with the connected cable into the neck of the bottle, you can additionally fix it with glue.

We screw in the light bulb - you can connect the carrier to any outlet. When falling, the plastic reliably protects the lamp from impacts.

Carrying out of the ceiling LED lamp

World of norms. at any angle it turns out if you make a portable structure from a conventional LED ceiling lamp for 300 rubles. We cut out the case from any plastic according to the size of the lamp so that it is stable.

From below, you can cut it out of tin and fasten a stable leg to the rack on bolts or screws.

We attach the lamp to the body with glue, if necessary, cut the edges to improve adhesion. It remains to connect the wires and you can use it.

If you are an avid car enthusiast or a jack of all trades, then you will certainly have a garage or a suitable shed. It is in these rooms that the main need for work is a lamp - carrying: there will always be a place that is hard to reach for the light of table and wall lamps, or small details that require a concentrated beam of bright light. A lamp - carrying is easy to make from affordable waste material with your own hands. A little patience and half an hour of time - that's all it takes to create this homemade product!

Materials for work:
Cord (for example, from an old vacuum cleaner) with a working plug at one end - 1 pc.;
Hanging lamp holder - 1 pc.;
Empty bottle from polyurethane foam- 1 PC.;
Chandelier body with a horn (without shade) - 1 pc.;
Bolt short - 3 pcs.;
Nut - 3 pcs.;
Drill, thin drill, screwdriver.

Stages of work:
The first stage: we bring the wires.
We release the old chandelier from the ceiling.

We find a wire from unused household appliances (in the presented version, a cord from a vacuum cleaner is used). It is desirable: the wire is more authentic, with a double insulating layer, so that it has a working plug at one end.

We unscrew the horn from the body. We thread the cord into it so that the direction of movement goes in the direction of the connection of the horn with the ceiling.

Second step: connect the wires. We are looking for a pendant lamp holder.

We disassemble it into its components: we disconnect the body and the threaded sleeve, take out the porcelain insert.

We release the end of the cord pulled out of the horn from external insulation, we clean the wires themselves (cutting and removing the inner insulating layer from both wires).

We put stripped wires into the body of the chandelier.

Further work is carried out inside the chandelier body. First, insert the wires into the cartridge body.

We fix it with a special nut that secures the chandelier horn to the body.

The next step is to connect the wires to the porcelain insert of the cartridge.

To do this, twist a loop at the end of each of the wires.

We unscrew the contact screws on the porcelain insert. We put the screw in the loop. We put the screw in place and fasten it tightly to the liner (the wire ring remains under the screw, on the liner).

After screwing the contact screws, we place the porcelain insert into the cartridge body (wires inside).

We connect the cartridge body with the threaded sleeve.

The third stage: we make a reflector.
To concentrate the direction of light, we make a “curtain” - a reflector, by cutting a spade-shaped part from an empty balloon of mounting foam.

A garage is more than just a place to park a car. It is also a workshop, and a place of rest, and an interest club. Therefore, the arrangement of the garage should be convenient and thoughtful. In a small area, you need to place a lot of things, and it should be convenient to use them. This will help homemade for the garage. What people do not do with their own hands. From an elementary shelf to a complex device. All this can be made independently. But you need to know how. A few ideas for modernizing the garage and a plan for their implementation in the article.

Homemade for the garage: ideas for arrangement

Arranging a garage is a long process. You can’t do everything right away, you have to constantly modernize something, change, make something new. At the same time, they mainly use homemade products for the garage. It requires less money and it’s also a pleasure to mold the right thing out of the garbage - it’s worth a lot.

Tire and wheel storage

Each car owner is faced with the problem of storing off-season "shoes" for the car. Where to stick the tires is a sore point. In general, how tires are stored depends on whether they are mounted on rims or not.

So tires with disks can be hung or stored lying down - in the form of a stack, stacking them one on top of the other. For hanging tires, you can use luggage straps, chains, a metal cable with a diameter of 4 mm or more in a polyethylene sheath. Fasten the belts to the ceiling, wall, to the beam located on top.

Another affordable way is to drive pins or hooks with a small bending radius into the wall. The distance between the hooks is slightly more than the diameter of the tires. The length of the pins must be such that they do not stick out of the tire. You can fill them almost under the ceiling so that the wheels fit.

Tires without rims can only be stored standing up. They make special shelves for them. They are usually welded from a profiled pipe. 20*20mm, maximum 30*30mm. You can also use a corner. It is inconvenient to weld a round pipe, but crossbars can be made from it - the tires fit and hold better in this case.

Shelf width - 4 times the width of the tire, plus a margin of 10-15 cm for some freedom. The height of the rear wall is slightly higher than the outer diameter of the wheel. The design is simple = the side resembles a right triangle. Having, it will not be difficult to weld such a shelf.

A tire storage shelf is a great DIY for the garage. This is a factory option with a completely inhumane price tag. But you can borrow the idea - the crossbars can be rearranged depending on the size of the tires ... you never know A tire rack in a garage with limited space. No tires - you can fold the shelf

Such shelves are usually hung on the wall. But the place must be chosen so that the light does not fall on the rubber - it deteriorates from this. Not the most difficult DIY for the garage, but very useful.

Workplace

Probably the largest number of garage homemade products is associated with workplace equipment and tool storage systems. And it's not the only way to solve this problem. First of all, you need to decide where it will be located workplace. There are three options:

  • Full width of the far wall. If the garage is long enough and it is possible to "steal" about 1.5 meters. Dignity - everything is located compactly, at hand, does not interfere with walking along the car. The disadvantage of this solution is that you have to carry tools far if work is carried out on the street.

    Countertop and many drawers. The main thing is to remember where everything is.

  • Along one of the long walls. This arrangement is chosen if the garage is wide, but not long enough. It makes sense to place a table and a workbench to the left of the entrance - from the driver's seat. But this is not critical. The disadvantage of such an arrangement of the workplace in the garage is that you have to move with some caution, but it is more convenient to bring in / take out tools on the street.

    The main thing is to place the tools correctly

  • Taking one of the corners. This is an intermediate option. Moreover, one of the sides can be made longer, the other - shorter.

    Putting a desktop in the corner of the garage, and putting a sofa next to it is not a solution to the problem. Taking two adjacent sides is a great idea.

A table or a workbench for a garage is made of boards, sheathed with plywood. Inexpensive, very reliable. If there welding machine and reconciliation skills, you can weld a frame from a corner or a profiled pipe. It is better to sheathe again with moisture-resistant plywood. This results in a smooth, abrasion-resistant surface. You can, of course, use and, but the laminating layer is quickly damaged.

To prevent the place from “walking”, you can install shelves under the tabletop or make drawers. Boxes are more convenient, but making them is still a hassle. It is quite possible to make shelves and put boxes knocked out of plywood on them. Plastic boxes and baskets are also suitable. But the walls must be thick.

By the way, there is a useful idea - to make a rack for storing tools from used canisters. Look for the ones with the handle on top. Further, everything is simple - one of the sidewalls is cut out and in the future this canister is used as a box.

It is not necessary to make a whole rack - it is still difficult to remember where, what is. But by the same principle, you can make boxes for shelves. By the way, you can stick inscriptions or pictures on the ends (identification is faster with pictures). Such homemade garage crafts bring satisfaction - creating a useful thing from garbage is a pleasant feeling.

Tool storage

The most difficult task is to organize the storage of tools in the garage. It is necessary to make sure that everything is in order, but, at the same time, is at hand and in plain sight. Moreover, closed boxes are suitable only for very organized people who always put the thing they have taken in its place. Otherwise, you will constantly rummage through the boxes, forgetting where everything is. There are several ideas for convenient storage little things and tools. These are very simple homemade products for the garage.

An ordinary metal mesh will help to quickly solve the problem. A reinforcing mesh of 2 mm wire, a cage of 10 cm is suitable. Attach it to the wall, bite off some twigs, bend them, make hooks, crossbars, etc. out of them. You can buy special hooks that are attached to the net (available in stores selling commercial equipment), ordinary double-sided hooks that can be bought or made from wire are also suitable.

Grid on the wall - a way to quickly organize tool storage

Screwdrivers are conveniently stored on a special shelf. Take a board, plywood, 10-15 mm thick. The board must be well sanded - so that there are no splinters. Then, in a plane, drill holes of different diameters in one or two rows. If the board is wide enough, you can make larger holes - for chisels or even for hammer handles. Clean all the chips again. Now we need to come up with a wall mount. You can use a regular bracket. Screwdrivers, chisels, and other similar material are inserted into the holes. Convenient, fast, everything.

There are also useful homemade products for the garage that allow you to organize the storage of hand tools. Pliers, pliers, wire cutters, etc. placement is problematic. Can be hung on a net. It is convenient to shoot, but not to hang. But there is a simple solution - attach a narrow board and put a tool on it. To make it fit comfortably, grind off the board on one side. When cut, it should look like an isosceles triangle.

Another simple idea for storing cordless tools, chargers and spare batteries for them. Make a shelf as in the photo above. Cuts of various formats are made in the lower part, and the upper ones are used as ordinary shelves. The idea is that everything is in one place, quickly gets / installed in place. These homemade garage crafts will make your workplace comfortable. Keeping order will be easy.

Homemade carriers for the garage

Even with very good lighting in the garage itself or during the day on the street, visibility under the bottom of the car is very low. To illuminate the front of work, portable lamps are used - carrying. These are the simplest homemade for the garage. With them, you can start the epic of arranging and equipping the garage space.

In the simplest version, this is a cartridge attached to a wire; a small screen with a hook can be attached to it. This is such an uncomplicated thing. Light bulbs are used ordinary - incandescent or housekeeper under a standard cartridge. Everything is not bad, except that these bulbs beat very often, you need to look for how to hang them so that they shine in a specific place. In general, the design needs to be improved. There are several modification options.

Unbreakable lamp socket

This lampshade from plastic bottle perfectly protects the fragile bulb of an energy-saving lamp. You can also use an LED lamp, but the incandescence will not work - it heats up too much. The design is ordinary - a cord with a plug and a cartridge at the end.

The main task is to find a plastic vessel with walls made of translucent milky plastic of medium thickness. Transparent will not work - it will not scatter light, too thin walls will not save the lamp from impacts. After you have found a suitable vessel, a trifle remains:

Everything is simple, but such a ceiling allows you to brightly illuminate exactly the right area, the rest of the space is flooded with even light that does not hurt your eyes.

Carrying out LED recessed downlight

The simplest and most common garage homemade products are portable lamps. Without them, it is inconvenient to work not only in, but even just on a workbench. You need a flat recessed LED lamp that can be switched on at 220 V. These models are called "pills" because of their shape. You also need a cord with a plug, a piece of plastic window sill - to build in a lamp. A piece of window sill should be larger than the lamp. Choose your own dimensions. Further actions are:

Everything, homemade carrying is ready. This option is for floor installation. The movable leg allows you to change the angle of inclination. To make it turn over less, a couple of weights can be fixed inside the case (in its lower part).

Attach the carry cord to the ceiling

Conveniences are made up of little things, and very simple homemade products for the garage help in this. For example, you can remove the cable from a portable lamp that is always tangled under your feet. Carrying is usually done with a cheap cable. It is not the most flexible, does not fold well, its coils on the floor fall under your feet. In general, it is inconvenient to use. You can protect yourself and carrying - hang the cable from the ceiling. The solution is simple but very effective.

Here's a "suspension" to the ceiling for carrying, you can do it yourself in an hour

  • Two anchors with a ring at the end.
  • Cable tie.
  • Clamp clamp.
  • Metal cable. The length depends on the size of the garage - it is necessary from one wall to another.
  • Steel/plastic rings or steel wire and a piece of pipe to make these rings.
  • Carry with a long cable - its length is about twice the length of the garage.

The cable is pulled along the long side of the garage. It is more convenient - not far from the "working" wall, where a workbench or other equipment is located. Little work:

Well, that's all. You can use. With such a device, the carrier can be pulled to any end of the garage, while the cable does not get confused and does not cling. Convenient, takes little time.

Do-it-yourself garage compressor

A compressor is needed in any garage. And by the way, this is not the most difficult homemade for the garage. Low power garage compressor for tire inflation and other small jobs you can do it yourself from auxiliary materials. For example, from the compressor from the refrigerator. For this you will need:

  • refrigerator compressor;
  • a sealed container with thick walls (you can use a flask from a fire extinguisher, a small gas cylinder);
  • safety valve 8 atm;
  • manometer;
  • fitting;
  • oxygen hoses with couplings (choose the length based on the size of your spare parts);
  • base for the compressor - a thick board, a piece of plywood will do.

In order not to pump any muck into the tires, it is also advisable to put a filter - to separate oils, dust and other contaminants. The diagram of a homemade compressor is shown in the photo.

The compressor must be equipped with a starting device. We plug it into the network, look into which tube air is sucked in, mark it. You can put a car filter on it - clean air will be pumped.

We assemble an oil separator receiver from a cylinder and a safety valve. To do this, we cut two fittings into the cylinder - for air inlet and outlet. At the inlet we put a safety valve to it with the help of an oxygen hose we connect the compressor outlet.

We put another car oil filter on the outlet of the oil separator receiver - to remove the oil completely. We connect the filter to the pressure gauge, and from it comes a hose, which is connected to the bus through the appropriate adapter.

Assembly completed. But in order to carry this device comfortably, everything needs to be fixed in some way. You can weld the frame to size, attach wheels and a handle for easy transportation. One of the compressor options for pumping wheels is described in the video. There is no receiver, but the oil filter performs its functions. You can do it this way, but with a receiver, the design is more reliable.

Since the compressor in the refrigerator is small, it can take a long time to inflate the wheels. It can be made more powerful by installing two compressors that will run simultaneously. Accordingly, the pressure will build up twice as fast. But in such an installation, a more solid security group is required. Such homemade products require a little more equipment, since the circuit is still more complicated.
