“Allah (God, Lord). There is no god but Him, the eternally Living, Existing One. Neither sleep nor slumber will befall him. To Him belongs everything in the heavens and on the Earth. Who will intercede before Him, except according to His will!? He knows what has been and what will be. No one is able to comprehend even a particle of His knowledge, except by His will. The heavens and the Earth are embraced by the Kursiya (Great Throne) of Him, and His concern for them [About everything that is in our galactic system] does not bother Him. He is the Most High [in all characteristics above everything and everyone], the Great [His greatness has no limits]!” (see, Holy Quran, Surah al-Baqarah, verse 255 (2:255)).

Ayat “Al-Kursi” is a special verse Holy Quran, possessing not only deep meaning, but also the power of mystical influence. As the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said, this is the greatest of the Quranic verses, because it contains evidence of monotheism, as well as the greatness and limitlessness of the qualities of the Almighty Creator. In this verse, in words accessible to human understanding, the Lord tells people about Himself and His incomparability with any objects and entities of the world He created. This verse truly has glorious and delightful meanings and deserves to be called the greatest of the Qur'anic verses. And if a person reads it, reflecting on its meaning and comprehending its meaning, then his heart is filled with conviction, knowledge and faith, thanks to which he protects himself from the evil machinations of Satan.

“The Throne” (“al-kursi”) is one of the greatest creations of the Creator. The Messenger of Allah said: “The seven heavens (Earth and heaven) compared to the foot of the Throne are like a ring thrown in the desert, and the superiority of the Throne over its foot is like the superiority of this desert over this ring.” 1 “The Throne” “no one is able to imagine in a worthy way except Allah Almighty 2. The quoted words of the verse “Al-Kursi” should not be interpreted in a literal sense. Allah cannot be limited by any space and does not need any “al-kursi” (throne, chair) or “al-‘arsh” (throne).

Ayat Al-Kursi in its meaning and significance is equal to one quarter of the entire Holy Quran. Ali 3, the successor of the Prophet Muhammad, spoke about the power of its action: “I cannot understand those Muslims who do not read the verse “Al-Kursi” before going to bed. If you knew how great this verse is, you would never neglect to read it, because it was given to your Messenger Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) from the treasuries of al-‘Arsh. The verse “Al-Kursi” was not given to any of the prophets before Muhammad (God bless them). And I never spend a night without reciting the verse of Al-Kursi three times [before going to bed].”

The Prophet Muhammad, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said: “Whoever reads the verse “Al-Kursi” after prayer-namaz will be under the protection of Allah Almighty until the next prayer.” 4 “Whoever reads the verse “Al-Kursi” after the prayer-namaz, [if he dies] nothing will prevent him from entering Paradise” 5.

The name of the verse "Al-Kursi" is sometimes mistakenly written as "Ayatul Kursi". The Koran consists of 114 parts called suras. Surahs consist of verses. In Surah Bakkara, verse number 255 is called “Al-Kursi”. Hence the name - verse “Al-Kursi”. Not all verses in the Koran have a title.

Bismil-lyahi rrahmaani rrahiim.

In the name of Allah, the All-Merciful and Merciful!

Allahu laya ilayahe illya huwal-hayyul-qayyuum

Allah (God, Lord). There is no god but Him, the eternally Living, Existing One.

laya ta - huzuhu sinatuv-walya naum

neither drowsiness nor sleep overtakes Him;

Lyahu maa fi-s samaavaati ua maa fi-l ard

To Him belongs what is in the heavens and on earth

man za-llazii yashfa`u `indahuu illya bi-izni. ya'lyamu maa baina aidihim wa maa halfahum

Who will intercede before Him, except with His permission? He knows what happened before them and what will happen after them,

wa laya yuhiituuna bi-shayi-m-min `ilmihii illya bi maa shaa`

and they comprehend nothing of His knowledge except what He wills.

Wasi'a kursiyuhu ssamaauaaati wal ard ua laa yauduhu hifzuhumaa

His throne embraces the heavens and the earth, and His protection over them does not burden Him.

Allahu la ilaha illya hwal-hayyul-qayyum.

Meaning: “Allah is the One besides Whom there is no deity. He is Alive, Eternally Existing; neither drowsiness nor sleep overpowers Him. Everything in Heaven and everything on Earth belongs to Him; who will intercede before Him without His permission? He knows what happened before them and knows what will happen after them, they take possession of His knowledge only that which He desires. His throne embraces the Heavens and the Earth, and His guardianship over them does not burden Him, truly. He is High, Great.”

Hazrat Babafariduddin Janj (Rahmatullah ‘alaih) reported that

“When Ayatul-Kursi was revealed to the Prophet Muhammad

(sallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam),

then Angel Jibraeel ('alaihis-salaam),

surrounded by 70 thousand angels conveyed this verse,

saying at the same time that

“Whoever sincerely reads it,

then he will receive a reward for 70 years of service to the Almighty.

will be surrounded by 1000 angels,

who will pray for his forgiveness.”

2. Ayatul-Kursi will be protected from the evil of the jinn from morning to evening and from evening to morning;

16. Qutbubbin Bakhtiyar (rahmatullah ‘alayh - may Allah be merciful to him) conveyed, “Allah will relieve the house of the person who reads Ayatul-Kursi before leaving the house.”

17. If you read Ayatul-Kursi and blow on a sick person, then Allah will ease his pain;

22. Whoever on Fridays, preferably in solitude, begins to read Ayatul-Kursi 70 times after the Al-Asr prayer (the third in a row), he will begin to see the inner spiritual light, and every dua made at this moment will be accepted by Allah;

The Great Caliph of Islam - 'Ali (rady to Allah 'anhu) said:

“I cannot understand those Muslims who do not read Ayatul-Kursi before going to bed. If you only knew how great this verse is, you would never neglect reading Ayatul-Kursi, because it was given to the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) from the treasuries of Al-Arsh. Ayatul-Kursi was not revealed to any of the Prophets before the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

And I never go to bed

without first reading Ayatul-Kursi.”

Sayings of the Prophet Muhammad:

“Every day two angels accompany a person.

One of them often repeats: “Oh Allah! Increase the prosperity of those who spend their property on sadaqah for the poor and on other noble deeds!”

Another angel says: “O Allah! Deprive the one who keeps his wealth only for himself!”

Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said: “I cannot understand those Muslims who do not read the verse of ul-Kursi before going to bed. If you knew how great this verse is, you would never neglect to read it, because it was given to your Messenger Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) from the treasuries of al-Arsh. Ayat ul-Kursi was not given to any of the prophets before Muhammad (peace be upon them all). And I never spend a night without reading the verse of ul-Kursi three times (before going to bed).”

Hasan (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Sura al-Fatiha, verse ul-Kursi and verses from Surah Baqarah (18, 26 and 27) related to al-Arsh, they said: “O our Lord! You are sending us to earth among the disobedient.” Then Allah told them: “I have given you such a status that those of the people who read you after every prayer will find themselves in Paradise. I will settle them in Jannah (Paradise), fulfill 70 of their daily desires and protect them from all enemies.”

A hadith from Ibn Hibban states: “One of the significant surahs of the Quran is “al-Baqarah”, and the best verse from this surah is ayat ul-Kursi. Shaitan cannot stay in a house where Surah al-Baqarah is being read, he will immediately leave it.”

And Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) told the following story: “Once the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) appointed me as the keeper of zakat. And on the first night of my service a man came and began to pick handfuls of dates. I grabbed him and said: “I will take you to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him).”

The thief begged me to let him go: “I am forced to steal, I have a family, children, they are hungry and live in poverty.” I felt sorry and let him go.

In the morning, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked me:

“He told me about his poverty and need, I felt sorry for him and let him go.

- Do not doubt that the thief deceived you. He will come again.

After this warning, the next night I was ready for his arrival. And soon the thief appeared again and again began to pick up handfuls of dates.

I caught him and said: “I will take you to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him).” He again asked to let him go and swore that he would not come again. And I felt sorry for him.

In the morning the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked me:

- O Abu Hureyra! What did you do with your captive yesterday?

– O venerable and great Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), he begged me and promised that he would not come again. I felt sorry and let him go.

“The thief deceived you again.” He will come again.

On the third night everything happened again. The thief came again and began to pick dates, I immediately grabbed him and said:

- Well, that's enough! This time I will take you to the venerable Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), especially since you gave your word not to come again.

“Forgive me and let me go this time too.” And I will teach you the necessary prayer, for which Allah Almighty will reward you with many benefits.

-What kind of prayer is this? – I asked.

– Before going to bed, when you go to bed, read the verse ul-Kursi, and angels will protect you until the morning. You will be under the protection of Allah, and the devil will not come near you.

I did not detain the thief and let him go.

In the morning, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked me again:

- O Abu Hureyra! What did you do with your captive yesterday?

- He taught me best prayer, beautiful words, thanks to which Allah will protect me. So I let him go.

– What kind of words are these, what kind of prayer?

“Ayat ul-Kursi,” I answered the question of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).

- Yes, he told you the truth, despite the fact that he is an incorrigible liar. But do you know who that thief was?

- Oh, most respected one, no, I don’t know.

- Abu Hureyra! It was the Shaitan himself” (Bukhari).

Ayat "Al-Kursi"

The importance of the verse Al-Kursi

It is reported that one day, Abu Hurayrah, may Allah be pleased with him, while guarding the collected zakat, caught a thief who said to him: “Let me go, and I will teach you such words that Allah will make useful for you!” Abu Hurayrah asked: “What are these words?” He said: “When you go to bed, read “Ayat al-Kursi” from beginning to end, and a guardian from Allah will always be with you, and Satan will not be able to approach you until the morning!” After this, Abu Hurayrah told the Prophet about this, peace and blessings be upon him, and he said: “He really told you the truth, despite the fact that he is a notorious liar!” After which the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, told Abu Hurayrah that it was the Shaitan himself in the form of a man (Al-Bukhari “Sahih” 2311).

Ubay ibn Ka'b said: “Once the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, asked me: “O Abul-Munzir, do you know which verse from the Book of Allah is the greatest?” I said: “This is the verse that says: Allah - there is no deity worthy of worship except Him, the Living, the Almighty...“(verse al-Kursi) After this, the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, slapped me on the chest and said: “May you be happy in knowledge, O Abul-Munzir!”" (Muslim “Sahih” 810).

Surah al-‘Asr

«

Wal-'asr. Innal-inseene lafii khusr. Illal-lyaziine eemenuu wa ‘amilyu ssoolikhaati wa tavaasav bil-hakky wa tavaasav bis-sabr” (Holy Koran, 103).

إِنَّ الْإِنسَانَ لَفِي خُسْرٍ

إِلَّا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ وَتَوَاصَوْا بِالْحَقِّ وَتَوَاصَوْا بِالصَّبْرِ

« In the name of God, whose mercy is eternal and limitless. I swear by the era [century]. Verily, man is at a loss, except for those who believed, did good deeds, commanded each other the truth [helped to preserve and strengthen the faith] and commanded each other patience [in submission to God, removing themselves from sin]».

Surah al-Humaza

« Bismil-lyahi rrahmaani rrahiim.

يَحْسَبُ أَنَّ مَالَهُ أَخْلَدَهُ

« In the name of God, whose mercy is eternal and limitless. The punishment [of Hell awaits] every slanderer who seeks out the shortcomings of others, who [among other things] accumulates wealth and [constantly] counts it [thinking that it will help him in trouble]. He thinks that wealth will immortalize him [make him immortal]?! No! He will be thrown into al-khutoma. Do you know what “al-khutoma” is? This is the kindled fire of the Lord [hell fire], which reaches the hearts [gradually burning them and bringing them incomparable pain]. The gates of Hell are closed, and there are bolts on them [that will never allow them to open].

Surah al-Fil

« Bismil-lyahi rrahmaani rrahiim.

Alam tara kayfya fa'alya rabbukya bi askhaabil-fiil. Alam yaj'al kaidahum fii tadliil. Wa arsalya ‘alayhim tairan abaabiil. Tarmihim bi hijaaratim-min sijil. Fa ja'alahum kya'asfim-ma'kuul" (Holy Quran, 105).

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ

أَلَمْ تَرَ كَيْفَ فَعَلَ رَبُّكَ بِأَصْحَابِ الْفِيلِ

أَلَمْ يَجْعَلْ كَيْدَهُمْ فِي تَضْلِيلٍ

وَأَرْسَلَ عَلَيْهِمْ طَيْرًا أَبَابِيلَ

تَرْمِيهِم بِحِجَارَةٍ مِّن سِجِّيلٍ

فَجَعَلَهُمْ كَعَصْفٍ مَّأْكُولٍ

« In the name of God, whose mercy is eternal and limitless. Don’t you see how your Lord dealt with the owners of the elephants [aren’t you surprised by what happened then]?! Didn’t He turn their cunning into a delusion [didn’t their intention end in complete failure]?! And [the Lord] sent down on them [on the army of Abraha] the Ababil birds. They [the birds] threw stones of burnt clay at them. And [the Lord] turned them [the warriors] into chewed grass».

Surah Quraish

« Bismil-lyahi rrahmaani rrahiim.

Li iyalyafi kuraysh. Iilyafihim rikhlyatesh-sheeteei you-soif. Fal ya'duu rabbe haazel-byayt. Allazii at'amakhum min ju'iv-va eemenehum min hawf." (Holy Quran, 106).

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ

إِيلَافِهِمْ رِحْلَةَ الشِّتَاءِ وَالصَّيْفِ

فَلْيَعْبُدُوا رَبَّ هَذَا الْبَيْتِ

الَّذِي أَطْعَمَهُم مِّن جُوعٍ وَآمَنَهُم مِّنْ خَوْفٍ

« In the name of God, whose mercy is eternal and limitless. [The Lord protected the inhabitants of Mecca from the army of Abraha] in order to unite the Quraish. [For] the unity of them [the Quraish] in their travels in winter [when they went to buy goods in Yemen] and in summer [when they went to Syria]. Let them worship the Lord of this Temple [Kaaba]. [To the Lord] Who fed them, protecting them from hunger, and instilled in them a sense of security, freeing them from fear [of the formidable army of Abraha or anything else that could pose a threat to Mecca and the Kaaba]».

Ayat al-Kursi

« Bismil-lyahi rrahmaani rrahiim.

Allahu laya ilyayahe illya huwal-hayyul-kayuum, laya ta'huzuhu sinatuv-valya naum, lyahu maa fis-samaavaati wa maa fil-ard, men zal-lyazi yashfya'u 'indahu illya bi izkh, ya'lamu maa baina aidihim va maa halfahum wa laya yuhiituune bi sheyim-min 'ilmihi illya bi maa shaa'a, wasi'a kursiyuhu ssamaavaati val-ard, wa laya yauuduhu hifzukhumaa wa huwal-'aliyul-'azim" (Holy Quran, 2:255).

One day, a certain pagan Bedouin, demonstrating his disrespect for a Yemeni temple, desecrated it. Upon learning of this, Abraha vowed to wipe the Kaaba from the face of the earth.

In the army he equipped there were eight (according to other sources - twelve) elephants, which were supposed to destroy the Kaaba.

Approaching Mecca, Abraha's army set up a rest camp. The camels grazing in the vicinity immediately became prey for the Yemenis. Among them were two hundred camels that belonged to one of the most respected people of Mecca, ‘Abdul-Muttalib (grandfather of the future Prophet).

Meanwhile, Abraha ordered the most respected Meccan to be brought to him. Residents pointed to ‘Abdul-Muttalib, who went to negotiate with Abraha. The dignity and nobility of ‘Abdul-Muttalib immediately inspired the ruler of Yemen to respect him, and he invited the Meccan to sit next to him. “Do you have any request for me?” – asked Abraha. “Yes,” replied ‘Abdul-Muttalib. “I want to ask you to return my camels, which your soldiers took away.” Abraha was surprised: “Seeing your noble face and courage, I sat down next to you. But after hearing you, I realized that you are a cowardly and selfish person. While I came with the intention of wiping your shrine from the face of the earth, are you asking for some camels?!” “But I am only the owner of my camels, and the owner of the temple is the Lord Himself, He will preserve it...” was the answer. Having taken his herd, ‘Abdul-Muttalib returned to the city, abandoned by the inhabitants who did not have the opportunity to resist the huge army. Together with the people accompanying him, ‘Abdul-Muttalib prayed for a long time at the threshold of the Kaaba, offering a prayer for the salvation and preservation of the Lord’s temple, after which they left Mecca.

When Abrakha's troops attempted to storm the city, a miraculous sign occurred: a flock of birds appeared and pelted the army with stones made of burnt clay. Abraha's army was destroyed. Defenseless Mecca and Kaaba were saved, because according to the Lord's plan they were destined for a different fate.

This story is a clear sign for those with understanding.

« AyatAl- Kursi" is the 255th verse of Surah Baqarah of the Holy Quran. The hadith of the Prophet of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) says:

“Just as everything in the world has a core, a basis, so the essence, the central place of Surah “Bakara” is the “Ayat of the Heavenly Throne.”

Hazrat Babafariduddin Janj (Rahmatullah 'alaih) reported that “When Ayat al-Kursi was revealed to the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), the Angel Jibraeel ('alaihis-salaam), surrounded by 70 thousand angels, conveyed this verse, saying , that “Whoever sincerely reads it will receive a reward for 70 years of service to the Almighty. Qutbubbin Bakhtiyar (Rahmatullah ‘alayh - may Allah be merciful to him) reported, “Allah will rid the house of the person who reads Ayat al-Kursi before leaving the house.”

When reading Ayat al-Kursi, evil jinn are expelled from the room.

Whoever on Fridays, preferably in solitude, reads Ayat al-Kursi 70 times after the Al-Asr prayer (the third in a row), will begin to see the inner spiritual light, and every dua made at this moment will be accepted by Allah.

Who can intercede before Him without His permission? He knows what is in front of them and what is behind them. And they do not comprehend anything from His Knowledge except what He wills. His Kursi embraces heaven and earth. And it is not difficult for Him to protect them. And He is the Most High, the Great.”

This is the greatest verse of the Noble Quran. The hadiths report his wonderful virtues and grace. Ahmad's Musnad says that the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, that this verse is the most worthy verse of all. According to another hadith, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) asked our master `Ubayy ibn Ka`b (may Allah be pleased with him): “What is the greatest verse of the Quran?” Our master 'Ubayy ibn Ka'b, may Allah be pleased with him, said: "Ayat al-Kursi." Expressing agreement, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “O Abu Munzir, may Allah bless you in your knowledge.”

Our master Abu Hurayrah, may Allah be pleased with him, reported the words of the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and said: “In Surah Al-Baqarah there is an verse that is the Sayyida (Lady) of the verses of the Quran. Shaitan leaves the house where he is being read.”

According to the hadith of an-Nasa`i, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “If one recites the verse of al-Kursi after every obligatory (fard) prayer, nothing will stop him from entering Paradise after death.” This means that immediately after death this person will begin to feel the signs of Paradise, its bliss and peace.”

This verse describes the Oneness of Allah's Essence and His attributes in a special manner - He is Alive, He hears and sees, He speaks, He is self-sufficient, He is eternal and infinite, He is the inventor and creator of the entire universe, He is beyond change and influence, He is the ruler of the entire universe. He is the Most High in His majesty, so that no one can speak before Him without His permission. He has a power so absolute that the creation, maintenance and management of a vast universe does not tire him or incline him to rest. His Knowledge embraces everything, so that not the smallest atom or drop, obvious or hidden, can hide from Him. This, in a nutshell, is the main meaning of the verse. اللَّـهُ لَا إِلَـٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ

Meaning: "Allah: There is no God but Him." The word “Allah” is like a proper name for the Essence of Allah. It means "The essence in which all perfections are combined and which is devoid of all defects." The words “there is no God but Him” explain what this Essence is. It is said that there is absolutely nothing worthy of worship except this Entity.

Second sentence:

الْحَيُّ الْقَيُّومُ

Meaning: "Living, Existing".

IN Arabic the word "haiyun" means "alive". Of all the names of Allah, this was chosen to emphasize that He is eternally Living, Infinite. He is above death. The word "qayyumun" is derived from "qiyam" which means "to stand" and the word "kaimun" means one who stands. The words "Qayyum" and "Qayyam" are superlative forms. They mean “He who himself stands firmly and at the same time supports others.” “Qayyum” is an attribute of Allah Almighty, Who has no partner among creation, because something that depends on others for its existence and survival can hardly support the existence of something else. Thus, a person cannot be called Qayyum. It is forbidden. People who abbreviate the name “Abdul-Qayyum” (slave of Qayyum) by using only the second part of it are committing a serious mistake and, as a result, a sin.

The combination of "Hayy" and "Qayyum" is known among the names of Almighty Allah as "al-ism al-a'zam" (The Great Name), according to some righteous ancestors. Our master `Ali, may Allah be pleased with him, says: “During the battle of Badr there was a time when I wanted to see what the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, was doing. When I arrived, I saw him in prostration (sajdah), and he constantly repeated: “Ya Hayyun, ya Qayyumun, ya Hayyun, ya Qayumun.”

Third sentence:

لَا تَأْخُذُهُ سِنَةٌ وَلَا نَوْمٌ

Meaning: “Neither drowsiness nor sleep overtakes him.”. The word "sinatun" means drowsiness - that is, the state preceding sleep, and the word "naum" means sound sleep. The meaning of this sentence is: Almighty Allah is above slumber and sleep. The word "Qayyum" in the previous sentence informs a person that Allah Almighty rules the entire universe harmoniously, which includes all the heavens and earths, as well as everything in them. This message, in turn, may lead the questioner to think that He who has such a unique Being and performs such a great task may feel tired from time to time and need rest and sleep. But the man, whose intelligence, knowledge and strength are limited, was warned that in no case should he compare Allah with himself or with other creations and consider him similar to man. He is beyond any similarity or analogy. His Power is perfect, so no action is difficult for Him and does not tire Him. And He is not subject to fatigue, exhaustion, drowsiness and sleep.

Fourth sentence:

لَّهُ مَا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَمَا فِي الْأَرْضِ

Meaning: “To Him belongs everything in the heavens and on earth”. The letter “lam” at the very beginning indicates belonging. Therefore, what is being said here is that everything in the heavens and the earth is in the possession of Almighty Allah. He is the Master, and He can do whatever He sees fit with what belongs to Him.

Fifth sentence:

مَن ذَا الَّذِي يَشْفَعُ عِندَهُ إِلَّا بِإِذْنِهِ

Meaning: " Who can intercede before Him without His permission?“Several provisions follow from this.

Let's start with the fact that Almighty Allah is the Owner of the entire universe and there is no one more important than Him, therefore, no one is allowed to ask Him what He is doing. No one and nothing can ask why and why He does something - this is not allowed about any event. However, sometimes it is possible to stand up for someone else. It is clear that no mortal can even breathe before Almighty Allah without His permission. However, Allah has slaves who have earned His pleasure and whom He has accepted, and they will be allowed to speak before Allah Almighty and intercede for others. In short: no one will be allowed to intercede for anyone without the permission of the Almighty. In one of the hadiths it is reported that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “On the Day of Resurrection, I will be the first to intercede for all human communities.” This is called al-Maqam al-Mahmud, the exalted stage that marks our Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace.

Sixth sentence:

يَعْلَمُ مَا بَيْنَ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَمَا خَلْفَهُمْ

Meaning: “He knows what is in front of them and what is behind them.”. This means that Almighty Allah knows about all their conditions and all the events that happen to them. “Before” and “behind” can mean that the Almighty knows about what happened before their birth and what happened after. It is also possible that "before" refers to states and events, open to people, and “for” – to states and events hidden from people. If so, then this means that human knowledge covers some things, but other things (events and states) are not included in people's knowledge. Something is revealed to a person, but something is not. But for Almighty Allah all these things are equal. His Knowledge covers everything equally. These two meanings of the sentence do not contradict each other.

Seventh sentence:

وَلَا يُحِيطُونَ بِشَيْءٍ مِّنْ عِلْمِهِ إِلَّا بِمَا شَاءَ

Meaning: " And they do not comprehend anything from His Knowledge except what He wills" This means that man and other creatures cannot comprehend anything from the infinite Knowledge of Allah, except for a certain part that Allah Almighty allows to be revealed. And that's all there is to know. Thus, it becomes clear that the all-encompassing Knowledge of every particle in the universe is an attribute exclusively of Almighty Allah. No man, no creature, can claim to know as much.

The importance of the verse Al-Kursi

It is reported that one day, Abu Hurayrah, may Allah be pleased with him, while guarding the collected zakat, caught a thief who said to him: “Let me go, and I will teach you such words that Allah will make useful for you!” Abu Hurayrah asked: “What are these words?” He said: “When you go to bed, read “Ayat al-Kursi” from beginning to end, and a guardian from Allah will always be with you, and Satan will not be able to approach you until the morning!” After this, Abu Hurayrah told the Prophet about this, peace and blessings be upon him, and he said: “He really told you the truth, despite the fact that he is a notorious liar!” After which the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, told Abu Hurayrah that it was the Shaitan himself in the form of a man (Al-Bukhari “Sahih” 2311).

Ubay ibn Ka'b said: “Once the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, asked me: “O Abul-Munzir, do you know which verse from the Book of Allah is the greatest?” I said: “This is the verse that says: Allah - there is no deity worthy of worship except Him, the Living, the Almighty...“(verse al-Kursi) After this, the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, slapped me on the chest and said: “May you be happy in knowledge, O Abul-Munzir!”" (Muslim “Sahih” 810).

Bismil-lyahi rrahmaani rrahiim.

Allahu laya ilyayahe illya huwal-hayyul-qayyuum, laya ta-hu h uhu sinatuv-valya navm, lyakhumaafis-samaavaati vamaafil-ard, Maine h al-la h ii yashfya‘u ‘indahu illya bi and h them, ya'lyamu maa beine aidihim wa maa halfahum wa laya yuhiituune bi sheyim-min 'ilmihi illya bi maa shaa'a, wasi'a kursiyuhu ssamaavati val-ard, wa laya yauduhu hifzukhumaa wa huval-'aliyul-'azim.

“Allah (God, Lord). There is no god but Him, the eternally Living, Existing One. Neither sleep nor slumber will befall him. To Him belongs everything in the heavens and on the Earth. Who will intercede before Him, except according to His will!? He knows what has been and what will be. No one is able to comprehend even a particle of His knowledge, except by His will. The heavens and the Earth are embraced by the Kursiya (Great Throne) of Him, and His concern for them [About everything that is in our galactic system] does not bother Him. He is the Most High [in all characteristics above everything and everyone], the Great [His greatness has no limits]!” (see, Holy Quran, Surah al-Baqarah, verse 255 (2:255)).

Ayat “Al-Kursi” is a special verse of the Holy Quran, which has not only deep meaning, but also the power of mystical influence. As the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said, this is the greatest of the Quranic verses, because it contains evidence of monotheism, as well as the greatness and limitlessness of the qualities of the Almighty Creator. In this verse, in words accessible to human understanding, the Lord tells people about Himself and His incomparability with any objects and entities of the world He created. This verse truly has glorious and delightful meanings and deserves to be called the greatest of the Qur'anic verses. And if a person reads it, reflecting on its meaning and comprehending its meaning, then his heart is filled with conviction, knowledge and faith, thanks to which he protects himself from the evil machinations of Satan.

“The Throne” (“al-kursi”) is one of the greatest creations of the Creator. The Messenger of Allah said: “The seven heavens (Earth and heaven) compared to the foot of the Throne are like a ring thrown in the desert, and the superiority of the Throne over its foot is like the superiority of this desert over this ring.” 1 “The Throne” “no one is able to imagine in a worthy way except Allah Almighty 2. The quoted words of the verse “Al-Kursi” should not be interpreted in a literal sense. Allah cannot be limited by any space and does not need any “al-kursi” (throne, chair) or “al-‘arsh” (throne).

Ayat Al-Kursi in its meaning and significance is equal to one quarter of the entire Holy Quran. Ali 3, the successor of the Prophet Muhammad, spoke about the power of its action: “I cannot understand those Muslims who do not read the verse “Al-Kursi” before going to bed. If you knew how great this verse is, you would never neglect to read it, because it was given to your Messenger Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) from the treasuries of al-‘Arsh. The verse “Al-Kursi” was not given to any of the prophets before Muhammad (God bless them). And I never spend a night without reciting the verse of Al-Kursi three times [before going to bed].”

The Prophet Muhammad, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said: “Whoever reads the verse “Al-Kursi” after prayer-namaz will be under the protection of Allah Almighty until the next prayer.” 4 “Whoever reads the verse “Al-Kursi” after the prayer-namaz, [if he dies] nothing will prevent him from entering Paradise” 5.

The name of the verse "Al-Kursi" is sometimes mistakenly written as "Ayatul Kursi". The Koran consists of 114 parts called suras. Surahs consist of verses. In Surah Bakkara, verse number 255 is called “Al-Kursi”. Hence the name - verse “Al-Kursi”. Not all verses in the Koran have a title.

إِنَّ الْإِنسَانَ لَفِي خُسْرٍ

إِلَّا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ وَتَوَاصَوْا بِالْحَقِّ وَتَوَاصَوْا بِالصَّبْرِ

« In the name of God, whose mercy is eternal and limitless. I swear by the era [century]. Verily, man is at a loss, except for those who believed, did good deeds, commanded each other the truth [helped to preserve and strengthen the faith] and commanded each other patience [in submission to God, removing themselves from sin]».

Surah al-Humaza

« Bismil-lyahi rrahmaani rrahiim.

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ

وَيْلٌ لِّكُلِّ هُمَزَةٍ لُّمَزَةٍ

الَّذِي جَمَعَ مَالًا وَعَدَّدَهُ

يَحْسَبُ أَنَّ مَالَهُ أَخْلَدَهُ

كَلَّا لَيُنبَذَنَّ فِي الْحُطَمَةِ

وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا الْحُطَمَةُ

« In the name of God, whose mercy is eternal and limitless. The punishment [of Hell awaits] every slanderer who seeks out the shortcomings of others, who [among other things] accumulates wealth and [constantly] counts it [thinking that it will help him in trouble]. He thinks that wealth will immortalize him [make him immortal]?! No! He will be thrown into al-khutoma. Do you know what “al-khutoma” is? This is the kindled fire of the Lord [hell fire], which reaches the hearts [gradually burning them and bringing them incomparable pain]. The gates of Hell are closed, and there are bolts on them [that will never allow them to open].

Surah al-Fil

« Bismil-lyahi rrahmaani rrahiim.

Alam tara kayfya fa'alya rabbukya bi askhaabil-fiil. Alam yaj'al kaidahum fii tadliil. Wa arsalya ‘alayhim tairan abaabiil. Tarmihim bi hijaaratim-min sijil. Fa ja'alahum kya'asfim-ma'kuul" (Holy Quran, 105).

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ

أَلَمْ تَرَ كَيْفَ فَعَلَ رَبُّكَ بِأَصْحَابِ الْفِيلِ

أَلَمْ يَجْعَلْ كَيْدَهُمْ فِي تَضْلِيلٍ

وَأَرْسَلَ عَلَيْهِمْ طَيْرًا أَبَابِيلَ

تَرْمِيهِم بِحِجَارَةٍ مِّن سِجِّيلٍ

فَجَعَلَهُمْ كَعَصْفٍ مَّأْكُولٍ

« In the name of God, whose mercy is eternal and limitless. Don’t you see how your Lord dealt with the owners of the elephants [aren’t you surprised by what happened then]?! Didn’t He turn their cunning into a delusion [didn’t their intention end in complete failure]?! And [the Lord] sent down on them [on the army of Abraha] the Ababil birds. They [the birds] threw stones of burnt clay at them. And [the Lord] turned them [the warriors] into chewed grass».

Surah Quraish

« Bismil-lyahi rrahmaani rrahiim.

Li iyalyafi kuraysh. Iilyafihim rikhlyatesh-sheeteei you-soif. Fal ya'duu rabbe haazel-byayt. Allazii at'amakhum min ju'iv-va eemenehum min hawf." (Holy Quran, 106).

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ

إِيلَافِهِمْ رِحْلَةَ الشِّتَاءِ وَالصَّيْفِ

فَلْيَعْبُدُوا رَبَّ هَذَا الْبَيْتِ

الَّذِي أَطْعَمَهُم مِّن جُوعٍ وَآمَنَهُم مِّنْ خَوْفٍ

« In the name of God, whose mercy is eternal and limitless. [The Lord protected the inhabitants of Mecca from the army of Abraha] in order to unite the Quraish. [For] the unity of them [the Quraish] in their travels in winter [when they went to buy goods in Yemen] and in summer [when they went to Syria]. Let them worship the Lord of this Temple [Kaaba]. [To the Lord] Who fed them, protecting them from hunger, and instilled in them a sense of security, freeing them from fear [of the formidable army of Abraha or anything else that could pose a threat to Mecca and the Kaaba]».

Ayat al-Kursi

« Bismil-lyahi rrahmaani rrahiim.

Allahu laya ilyayahe illya huwal-hayyul-kayuum, laya ta'huzuhu sinatuv-valya naum, lyahu maa fis-samaavaati wa maa fil-ard, men zal-lyazi yashfya'u 'indahu illya bi izkh, ya'lamu maa baina aidihim va maa halfahum wa laya yuhiituune bi sheyim-min 'ilmihi illya bi maa shaa'a, wasi'a kursiyuhu ssamaavaati val-ard, wa laya yauuduhu hifzukhumaa wa huwal-'aliyul-'azim" (Holy Quran, 2:255).

Surah al-Ikhlas

« Bismil-lyahi rrahmaani rrahiim.

Kul huval-laahu ahad. Allahus-somad. Lam yalid wa lam yulyad. Wa lam yakul-lyahu kufuvan ahad” (Holy Koran, 112).

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ

قُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ

لَمْ يَلِدْ وَلَمْ يُولَدْ

وَلَمْ يَكُن لَّهُ كُفُوًا أَحَدٌ

"Tell: " He, Allah (God, Lord, Supreme), is One. Allah is Eternal. [Only He is the one in whom everyone will need to infinity]. He did not give birth and was not born. And no one can equal Him».

Surah al-Falyak

« Bismil-lyahi rrahmaani rrahiim.

Kul a'uuzu bi rabbil-falyak. Min sharri maa halyak. Va min sharri gaasikin izee vakab. Wa min sharri nnaffaasaati fil-‘ukad. Wa min sharri haasidin izee hasad” (Holy Quran, 113).

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ

قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ الْفَلَقِ

مِن شَرِّ مَا خَلَقَ

وَمِن شَرِّ غَاسِقٍ إِذَا وَقَبَ

وَمِن شَرِّ النَّفَّاثَاتِ فِي الْعُقَدِ

وَمِن شَرِّ حَاسِدٍ إِذَا حَسَدَ

« In the name of God, whose mercy is eternal and limitless. Say: “I seek from the Lord the dawn of salvation from the evil that comes from what He created, and the evil of the darkness that has fallen, from the evil of those who cast spells and the evil of the envious, when envy ripens in him».

Surah an-Nas

« Bismil-lyahi rrahmaani rrahiim.

Kul a'uuzu bi rabbin-naas. Maalikin-naas. Ilyayakhin-naas. Min sharril-waswaasil-hannaas. Allyazii yuvasvisu fii suduurin-naas. Minal-jinnati van-naas” (Holy Quran, 114).

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ

قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ النَّاسِ

مِن شَرِّ الْوَسْوَاسِ الْخَنَّاسِ

الَّذِي يُوَسْوِسُ فِي صُدُورِ النَّاسِ

مِنَ الْجِنَّةِ وَالنَّاسِ

« In the name of God, whose mercy is eternal and limitless. Say: “I seek salvation from the Lord of men, the Ruler of men, the God of men. [I seek salvation from Him] from the evil of the whispering Satan, who retreats [at the mention of the Lord], [the Devil] who introduces confusion into the hearts of people, and from the [evil representatives of Satan from among] jinn and people».

Several semantic translations are possible: “I swear by the time interval that begins after the sun moves from its zenith and continues until sunset”; "I swear by the afternoon prayer."

That is, the slanderers thrown into “al-hutoma” will lose all hope of liberation, the gates of Hell will be tightly closed in front of them.

The Quranic sura tells about a historical event that occurred in the year of birth of the last messenger of the Lord Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and became a sign for people who understand.

By this time, the ancient temple of Monotheism, the Kaaba, restored by the prophet Abraham (see: Holy Koran, 22:26, ​​29), was again turned by the Arabs into the main temple of their pagan pantheon. Mecca became the center of paganism, attracting pilgrims from all over the Arab East. This caused discontent among the rulers of neighboring states. Then the ruler of Yemen, Abraha, in order to attract pilgrims, built a new temple, striking in its luxury and beauty. But the religious building was never able to become a center of pilgrimage for nomads, who still recognized only Mecca as such.

One day, a certain pagan Bedouin, demonstrating his disrespect for a Yemeni temple, desecrated it. Upon learning of this, Abraha vowed to wipe the Kaaba from the face of the earth.

In the army he equipped there were eight (according to other sources - twelve) elephants, which were supposed to destroy the Kaaba.

Approaching Mecca, Abraha's army set up a rest camp. The camels grazing in the vicinity immediately became prey for the Yemenis. Among them were two hundred camels that belonged to one of the most respected people of Mecca, ‘Abdul-Muttalib (grandfather of the future Prophet).

Meanwhile, Abraha ordered the most respected Meccan to be brought to him. Residents pointed to ‘Abdul-Muttalib, who went to negotiate with Abraha. The dignity and nobility of ‘Abdul-Muttalib immediately inspired the ruler of Yemen to respect him, and he invited the Meccan to sit next to him. “Do you have any request for me?” – asked Abraha. “Yes,” replied ‘Abdul-Muttalib. “I want to ask you to return my camels, which your soldiers took away.” Abraha was surprised: “Seeing your noble face and courage, I sat down next to you. But after hearing you, I realized that you are a cowardly and selfish person. While I came with the intention of wiping your shrine from the face of the earth, are you asking for some camels?!” “But I am only the owner of my camels, and the owner of the temple is the Lord Himself, He will preserve it...” was the answer. Having taken his herd, ‘Abdul-Muttalib returned to the city, abandoned by the inhabitants who did not have the opportunity to resist the huge army. Together with the people accompanying him, ‘Abdul-Muttalib prayed for a long time at the threshold of the Kaaba, offering a prayer for the salvation and preservation of the Lord’s temple, after which they left Mecca.

When Abrakha's troops attempted to storm the city, a miraculous sign occurred: a flock of birds appeared and pelted the army with stones made of burnt clay. Abraha's army was destroyed. Defenseless Mecca and Kaaba were saved, because according to the Lord's plan they were destined for a different fate.

This story is a clear sign for those with understanding.

The Lord is Almighty: He reveals His punishment through seemingly weak and defenseless creatures. Thus, for Pharaoh’s refusal to release Moses and his people for worship, one of the “plagues of Egypt” was the invasion of toads, midges, “dog flies,” and locusts that infested all of Egypt. The “plagues of Egypt,” according to the Bible, forced Pharaoh to release the people of Israel from captivity (Ex. 8:10).

One of the most frequently repeated and famous verses of the Final Revelation of the Almighty is “Ayatul-Kursi” (or verse “al-Kursi” - “Ayat of the Throne”). It is given in the second sura of the Book of Allah - “Al-Baqarah” (“The Cow”) under number 255.

It is reported from Abu Hurayrah (ra) that the Messenger of the Lord Muhammad (s.g.w.) admonished his ummah: “Truly, everything has a peak, and Surah “Bakara” is the peak of the Koran. And in this surah there is an verse that is the master of all the verses of the Koran - Ayatul-Kursi” (transmitted in the collections of Hakim and at-Tirmidhi).

In Arabic text of “Ayat of the Throne” looks like that:

اللّهُ لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ هُوَ الْحَيُّ الْقَيُّومُ لاَ تَأْخُذُهُ سِنَةٌ وَلاَ نَوْمٌ لَّهُ مَا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَمَا فِي الأَرْضِ مَن ذَا الَّذِي يَشْفَعُ عِنْدَهُ إِلاَّ بِإِذْنِهِ يَعْلَمُ مَا بَيْنَ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَمَا خَلْفَهُمْ وَلاَ يُحِيطُونَ بِشَيْءٍ مِّنْ عِلْمِهِ إِلاَّ بِمَا شَاء وَسِعَ كُرْسِيُّهُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالأَرْضَ وَلاَ يَؤُودُهُ حِفْظُهُمَا وَهُوَ الْعَلِيُّ الْعَظِيمُ

Transcription: Allahu la ilaha illahu, al-hayyul-Qayyum. La ta-huzuhu sina-tuu-ua la naum. Lyahu ma fis-samauati ua ma fil-ard. Manzallazi yashfa-'u 'indahu illa bi-iznih? Ya'lamu ma bayna aidihim wa ma halfahum. Wa la yu-hituna bi-shayim-min ‘il-mihi illya bima sha! Ua-si-'a Kursiyuhus-Samaua-ti wal-ard; wa la ya-udu-hu hifzu-huma wa Khuual-’aliyul-’aziym.

Translation of meaning: Allah - there is no god but Him, and only Him we should worship. Allah is Alive, Existing and preserves the existence of all people. Neither drowsiness nor sleep overwhelms him; He alone owns what is in the heavens and on earth; and He has no equal. Who will intercede for another before Him without His permission? Allah - glory to Him Almighty! - knows everything that has happened and what will happen. No one can comprehend anything from His wisdom and knowledge except what He allows. The Throne of Allah, His knowledge and His power are greater than the heavens and the earth, and His protection of them does not burden Him. Truly, He is the Most High, the One and the Great!

Many hadiths are devoted to the significance and greatness of this verse. Some of them are reliable, but there are also weak ones (in other words, there is a loss or questionable transmitters in the chain of transmitters).

For example, it is reported that if a believer says to himself the verse “al-Kursi” after completing the obligatory prayers before saying the tasbih (33 times each of “SubhanAllah”, “Alhamdulillah” and “Allahu Akbar!”), then after death nothing will prevent him from getting to Paradise.

It is also known that the fourth righteous caliph Ali (ra) said: “I do not understand those who, when going to bed, do not read the Ayat of the Throne.” According to him, if a person realized the degree of greatness of this verse, he would never neglect to read it, because this fragment of the Noble Quran was revealed to the Final Messenger of God (s.g.v.) from Arsh itself.

It is believed that reading “Ayat al-Kursi” helps to overcome the shaitan and rid the home of him. You can learn this dua by repeating the Koran-hafiz on our video, which also provides a transcription in Russian letters:

No one has any doubts or disagreements about the importance of constantly quoting Ayatul-Kursi. The reason is simple: things that are unique to Him are often mentioned here. top quality: Hayu (Eternally living, He who has neither beginning nor end); Qayyum (Existing, Independent of anyone or anything, not needing anyone or anything); Aliyu (Highest, Highly Honored); Azyimu (The Greatest).

In addition, the verse “al-Kursi” provides such signs of the Creator as:

  • Vahdaniyat (Unity): “Allah - there is no god but Him...”;
  • Geylm (Possession of knowledge): “...knows everything that was and what will be. No one can comprehend anything from His wisdom and knowledge except what He allows”;
  • Malik (sovereignty): “He alone owns what is in the heavens and on the earth; and He has no equal...";
  • Qudrat (Power): “The Throne of Allah, His knowledge and His power are broader than the heavens and the earth, and His protection of them does not burden Him”;
  • Irada (Will): “Neither drowsiness nor sleep overtakes Him,” “no one can comprehend anything from His wisdom and knowledge except what He allows” (2:255).

This passage from Surah Baqarah has this name because of the word “Kursi” mentioned in it. Theologians have given it different interpretations. Hassan Basri believed that this refers to the Arsh (Throne) of the Lord of the Worlds. Ibn Kathir assured that “kursi” does not simply mean Arsh, but it is something more than a throne. Abdullah ibn Abbas (r.a.), in turn, emphasized: “Kursi” means gyylm (knowledge) of our Creator.
