A few months later, Zyryanov appeared at the Torpedo training center in a state of deep depression. The club's doctors prescribed him medications against anxiety attacks and suicidal tendencies. Many would give up and leave professional football, but not Konstantin: “If I had stayed at home, I would have committed suicide. Hitting the ball is the only activity that helped me forget this nightmare.".

As his life improved, Zyryanov improved his skills.
