What will you need?

Prepare in advance everything that may be needed during the technical work, namely:

  • new engine oil (for a 2-liter engine, 4 liters will be enough; for a 2.4-liter engine, the volume of liquid to be filled will be 5 liters);
  • original oil filter;
  • a new gasket for the drain hole (washer), usually required when replacing the MM;
  • wrench to “17”;
  • a special chain with which you can (called a key);
  • an old bucket or any other container for draining the MM from the motor.

Step-by-step instruction

So, let's start replacing the lubricant. To do this, you will need to find a garage with a pit or an overpass - this will make it much more convenient to carry out technical work. In the absence of a pit or overpass, the car can be placed on a jack.

  1. Place your car on a pit or overpass and wait 20-30 minutes for the engine to cool down. The engine should not be cold, otherwise all the liquid will not flow out of it. But it shouldn’t be too hot either.
  2. Reach under the car and locate the drain plug that is draining the substance. Take an old bucket or any other container and place it under the stopper.
  3. Now take a “17” wrench and unscrew the plug. Be careful, hot oil can burn your skin. Wait 30-40 minutes until all consumables have drained from the engine.
  4. While the fluid is draining, unscrew the oil filter element. If you can’t unscrew it yourself, use a special filter wrench. If you don’t have that, then a regular gas wrench will do. It is not convenient for them to twist, but it is quite possible to rip the filter off the thread.
  5. Take a new drain gasket and install it in place of the old one.
  6. Next, you need to take a new filter element, pour about 100 grams of MM into it and lubricate the rubber filter flange with it.
  7. Place the new filter in place and tighten the drain plug.
  8. Open the filler cap and pour in as much oil as your engine needs. Monitor the consumable level using a dipstick - ideally, the MM level should be midway between the MIN and MAX marks.
