Specifications Renault Duster. Specifications Renault Duster Owner reviews about the car

- the bestseller of the domestic automotive market was published in 2012, almost immediately becoming one of the sales leaders. With time this model gained, based on reviews, the fame of one of the most reliable among the entire line of the French automaker. Even in the photo on the network, the “iron horse” looks solid and confident.

Technical data of the engine and transmissions

Renault Duster 2012 model year has three power units in its arsenal. Their photos can be easily found on the Internet. All gasoline engines can be paired with both front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive.

The “junior” in terms of technical characteristics has a volume of 1.6 liters and develops a power of 102 horsepower inherited from the Logan model. Of course, Renault Duster 2012 with such an engine cannot boast of driving habits, since 155 Newton meters of torque can accelerate the car to 100 km / h in just 12 seconds, which is still a good result in the crossover class.

The 2-liter engine develops a decent 130 horsepower and accelerates the car to the coveted 100 km / h in 10.5 seconds, which is an excellent speed indicator for a car of this class, and this power unit can also be paired with an automatic transmission. And finally, a 1.5-liter diesel engine that produces 90 horsepower is produced only with an all-wheel drive system and accelerates the car to “hundreds” in 15.5 seconds, which, according to reviews, is comparable to eternity for the driver.

According to the manufacturer's specifications, the average fuel consumption for version 1.6 is 8-8.5 liters of gasoline per 100 km in the combined cycle with a quiet ride; for a 2 liter unit 9.5-10.5 liters per 100 km; according to reviews, diesel is famous for its efficiency, consuming only 6-7 liters per 100 km, which is an excellent indicator for a fairly large car.

The transmission can act as 5 or (manual transmission), which have proven their reliability over many years of work on other models of the company and automatic transmission (automatic transmission). The main claims relate specifically to the operation of the automatic transmission, since due to design flaws, this gearbox can fail without having worked even 100,000 kilometers. Replacing or repairing an automatic transmission is a costly business both in terms of time and financial investment.

Based on many years of operating experience and feedback from a large number of drivers, it can be concluded that all engines are relatively trouble-free, although they require constant care. The maintenance interval is set at 10,000 for the diesel version and 15,000 kilometers for the petrol Duster. Only a diesel engine is sensitive enough to the quality of diesel fuel, therefore, judging by the reviews, the car owner should be more scrupulous about the choice of fuel for refueling. If all the requirements of the plant are fulfilled, these power units are capable of nursing more than 200,000 kilometers.

Chassis data

In all versions, the front suspension is independent, while the rear, in combination with the front-wheel drive system, is equipped with a simple beam with a stabilizer and is semi-independent. You can see everything in more detail in the numerous photos from the network. In the case of all-wheel drive, the suspension appears to be completely independent, equipped with multi-link struts. The operation of the all-wheel drive is regulated by an electromagnetic clutch, such a scheme is reliable and quite modern. The front brakes are disc with a radius of 15, the rear brakes are drum, which increases their service life and, according to owner reviews, reduces maintenance costs. More details can be seen in the photo from the Internet.

On the road, the suspension is highly energy-intensive, almost all road defects of any surface will not cause any discomfort to the driver. Despite the softness of the suspension, in terms of its off-road qualities, the Duster can compete with some SUVs quite successfully. In addition, ground clearance, as seen in the photo, also contributes to this.

The Renault Duster 2012 chassis is generally reliable, again subject to full maintenance. Moreover, most of them can be done independently, based on the necessary instructions and photos.

Some complaints can be caused by wheel bearings, which announce themselves with a lingering hum. This problem appears due to premature wear of the part and is eliminated by replacing it. Racks nursed about 100,000 kilometers. A beam with a stabilizer in terms of its resource serves long time, which is confirmed by reviews on the Internet. The rear brake elements wear out only after 100,000 kilometers, the front ones require replacement after 60,000 kilometers. It is better to consider the system live or in a photo on the Internet.

Owner reviews about the car

Andrew is 29 years old.

Owns a RenaultDuster 1 year.

I have a car with version 1.6. I liked it in the photo and according to stories from the Internet. Despite the low power, I do not feel flawed in city traffic, as some say in their reviews, I spin the engine a little and drive comfortably. Since I use Duster mainly in the city, front-wheel drive is enough for me even in winter period. Thanks to the high ground clearance, curbside parking is no problem. Consumption, of course, is too big, but given the size and weight of the car, it is quite acceptable. In terms of equipment level / price ratio, I believe that this model is one of the best. In a year and a half of ownership, I drove 35,000 kilometers, during which time I went through 2 MOT at the dealer, no malfunctions or breakdowns were noticed. I think as an urban crossover Duster is an excellent choice.

Sergey is 32 years old.

Tenure 1 year.

For me, as a lover of outdoor activities and an avid traveler, a lover of taking photos of unusual country places, a car, first of all, should be an assistant. The presence of various kinds of heating and blowing is secondary for me. The main thing for me is all-wheel drive, combined with a good design and a powerful engine. This is exactly the combination I found in Duster. The characteristics of the two-liter engine are enough to decently disperse the car on the track and not let it pass in the “traffic light races in the city”, the 6-speed “mechanics” provides comfortable control on the track and in areas with disgusting coverage. In the photo on the Internet, you can see the impressive volume of the trunk, which, paired with a convenient transformation, allows me to take away tourist equipment and three passengers.

Vitaly is 42 years old.

Tenure 2 years.

I have owned my Duster for about two years and, in principle, I am satisfied. Before buying, I looked at a lot of photos, read reviews. I made my choice in favor of a diesel engine, since I have decent mileage for the year and the overpayment when buying will pay off in 2 years with a vengeance. Another plus for me was the "tractor" engine thrust. Yes, when accelerating to “hundreds” of miracles, it does not show, as the reviews on the Internet warned, but there is enough reserve of traction capabilities in any situation. Service pass at the official station. Of the problems, there was some freezing of engine speed. Service workers sin on the quality of diesel fuel, since it was winter, but about the seasonal change diesel fuel at the gas station did not seem to hear. In terms of price-quality ratio, I consider Duster one of the best offers on the market.

Summarizing

Thus, we can conclude that Renault in 2012 released quite successful Duster models that suit car owners with their characteristics and external data. It is convenient and economical, on the road it is reliable and not picky.

With a 1.5 liter diesel engine, it remains the most popular and affordable among crossovers in the domestic market. Specifications such as high torque up to 240 Nm (which gives powerful traction already at 1750 rpm), economy, smooth running and reliability make the engine ideal for operation in any conditions, be it city or off-road. After the update and restyling, the diesel performance became even more deserved.

Specifications diesel 1.5 Renault Duster

The diesel model K9K 1.5 dCi is installed by the French automaker Renault on almost 12 of its Renault models. This diesel unit has shown itself to be reliable, durable, economical, for which it has earned universal popularity.

Instead of a chain, the Duster diesel engine uses a timing belt. Its durability is about 60 thousand km, it is after this figure that the manufacturer recommends changing the belt. Diesel K9K 1.5 dCi has 4 cylinders, each of which is equipped with only 2 valves, for a total of 8 valves for the entire engine.

Diesel for Dustera is equipped with the latest system common rail, which reduces fuel consumption, diesel consumption - only 5 liters on the highway and 5.9-6 liters in the urban cycle. Naturally, such an engine becomes demanding on fuel quality. With such advantages, the SUV diesel engine is inferior to the gasoline versions in terms of dynamic characteristics. When buying a diesel Renault Duster, you need to remember that you only need to refuel with high-quality diesel fuel, otherwise clogging of nozzles and problems with repairs are inevitable. That is why many, fearing such problems, choose models with gasoline engines, despite their voracity.

Video test drive diesel Renault Duster:

The first generation of the Renault Duster

The first generation was presented back in 2009, but in Ukraine and Russia official sales started only in 2012.

It is noteworthy that in Europe the car is sold as Dacia Duster, and it came to our market, including some other countries, under the French brand.

Appearance and interior design

The appearance of the crossover was quite nice, but there are no bright and eye-catching elements. These are simple streamlined and rounded shapes that were designed with an SUV in mind. Due to the design of the bumpers, it has good climb and exit angles. The car has a pretty good ground clearance of 205 - 210 mm.

The owners highlight a good view from the driver's seat, which also indicates a good layout.

The interior of the car turned out to be quite successful. The plastic used in the cabin is of high quality - nothing crunches or cracks. Upholstery material is also chosen very well. However, the location of some controls may seem inconvenient. This is probably due to the limited budget.

The owners themselves note that the interior is quite spacious, and the driver's location is good - you can easily reach all the controls. The filling itself is simple: there are no unnecessary devices and electronics, which makes the car understandable and simple. There is also a really big trunk.

Specifications

Consider the technical characteristics of Renault Duster. The basic package includes ABS (anti-lock braking system), as well as one airbag for the driver. In additional trim levels, it is possible to install not only an airbag for the passenger, but also ESP - a system of exchange rate stability (is an option).

The car is equipped with gasoline engines for 102 or 135 horsepower. A 90 hp diesel unit is also available. You can choose an automatic or manual transmission, which, in turn, can be 5 or 6 speed.

Maybe these figures are not striking, but the owners note the efficiency of this car, as well as good dynamics.

For those who buy a car exclusively for driving in the city or on the highway, the front-wheel drive version is best. This set will also be very cost-effective. The all-wheel drive version has a clearance of 5 mm higher. It is possible to switch to two modes - this is an automatic mode in which power is distributed to the axles automatically, as well as a mode with a lockable center differential.

The owners themselves claim that despite the clearance and the presence of all-wheel drive, the car is significantly inferior to SUVs, especially such as Niva or UAZ. The car is not in vain attributed to the class of crossovers.

Options and prices

Auto Renault Duster has 4 levels of possible configurations: basic, advanced, privileged and luxury. If the first two still differ from each other in available engines and gearboxes, then the rest include only larger list options, as well as the ability to paint door handles and rear-view mirrors in body color. Even air conditioning is not included in the first package, however, given the price, it is better to add money and understaff. Prices start at 570,000 rubles and go up to 920,000, however, if you install all the extras. options, then be sure to go beyond 1,000,000.

Advantages and problems of the machine according to reviews

Among the advantages, the owners distinguish a rather soft ride, good dynamics, low fuel consumption, simplicity of internal electronics, a comfortable interior, a strong suspension, a large trunk and good quality car.

At the same time, most buyers complain about the rather expensive maintenance from an authorized dealer. Also, the car has short gears, which entails frequent shifting and the need to get used to driving in the city in 5th gear. Also, due to the narrow mudguards, the car very quickly acquires dirt on the sides and on the tailgate. The rest of the complaints relate to too high expectations from a crossover in this price range. This is cross-country ability relative to SUVs, and comfort relative to luxury cars.

In Russia, in 2014, they began to assemble the new Renault Duster, but it was affected by slightly different changes than the European model. So, what changes went to the new model.

Exterior and interior

Externally, the car has changed slightly - only the false radiator grille has changed. The European version also received a new segmented optics.

But inside there are a few more changes. This, for example, is an interesting new dashboard, which has become more functional and attractive in terms of design. In the old version of the car, the power windows were really uncomfortable, but now they have moved to a standard place.

The seats, according to the owners, have become more comfortable and pleasant to the touch, although the changes are not particularly noticeable.

Now, for an additional fee, of course, you can equip the car with a decent radio with a touch screen.

Specifications

The technical characteristics remained the same: Renault Duster is still the same car that received some improvements in order to improve the quality and service life of the ride. The changes affected mainly the engine and gearbox. The automatic transmission received improved air cooling, due to which there was less overheating, unlike the earlier model, and the overall service life increased.

Also, according to the owners, the diesel engine has become faster.

The suspension was slightly modified for use on the roads of Russia. Otherwise, it's still the same Renault Duster crossover.

Options and prices

But the price of a new car has increased, but the list of options, as well as the basic equipment, has remained the same (except for some additions, such as a new multimedia system). Now motorists will not only wonder if they need an updated Duster, but also compare the crossover a little with other cars. Due to the increased price, the list of competitors has changed, which sometimes can offer more interesting solutions for a similar price. You can immediately answer that the updated car really turned out better than the earlier model. The price for the younger version starts at 610,000 rubles, but the amount does not include all options.

Advantages and disadvantages

In general, the advantages remain the same as in the earlier model, however, the interior is now more comfortable and some controls are located more conveniently. The car has become more reliable. Also, an improved automatic, combined with all-wheel drive, gives owners the opportunity to enjoy the car.

The disadvantages and problems of operation are still the same, however, judging by the reviews, after the production was transferred to Russia, more problematic batches and defective cars began to appear. Also, with the advent of the new model, owners began to complain more often about cheap plastic in the cabin.

In the arsenal of the car there are three power plants: a pair of gasoline and one diesel. Gasoline engines are represented by a 1.6-liter H4M unit (114 hp, 156 Nm) and a 2.0-liter F4R engine (143 hp, 195 Nm). The basic atmospheric "four" 1.6 liters is produced at a plant in Togliatti. A 1.5 dCi turbocharged diesel engine with the K9K index is installed on many cars of the Renault-Nissan alliance. With regard to the Duster, its return is 109 hp, and the maximum torque is 240 Nm (from 1750 rpm). All crossover power units meet the requirements of the Euro-5 environmental standard and have an economical Eco mode.

The range of transmissions available for Renault Duster includes 5 and 6-speed manual transmissions, as well as a 4-band DP8 automatic transmission. automatic box got only a 2.0-liter engine, the other two engines are content with "mechanics". Most Duster modifications are equipped with rear independent suspension and all-wheel drive. The only version with a rear torsion beam and a 4x2 drive scheme is the initial version with a 1.6 engine and 5MKPP. In all-wheel drive modifications, the force is transmitted to the rear wheels using the GKN clutch, which is also used by the crossover. After activating the Lock mode, it can remain locked at speeds up to 80 km/h.

The trunk volume of the Renault Duster 4x4 is 408 liters (1570 liters with the rear seats folded down). The spare wheel is hidden under the floor. Crossovers with front-wheel drive have a more spacious cargo compartment (475-1636 liters). The spare wheel for such modifications is attached to the bottom of the body.

The fuel consumption of petrol versions of the Duster varies from 7.4 to 8.7 liters. diesel engine consumes an average of about 5.3 liters of diesel fuel.

Despite the fact that the Duster has been on the market for more than a year, it remains the best-selling model of the French automaker. In addition, at the beginning of April 2014, he had an “anniversary” - the “millionth Duster” was released ... In addition, I would like to note that at the end of 2013 this crossover underwent its first restyling (insignificant, but which added attractiveness to the car ... alas, the “Russian version he avoided).

All this, taken together, gives a good reason for a detailed acquaintance with the "Duster" in its "Russian performance". So let's get started...

The compact crossover Renault Duster went into production in 2010, immediately winning the recognition of motorists around the world. The car was created jointly by Renault and Nissan on the basis of the Nissan B0 platform, and up to 70% of the parts in its design were borrowed from other cars of the French and Japanese automakers. Duster gained the greatest popularity in Russia, apparently affected by the involvement Russian designer Arseniy Kostromin, who developed the Duster Concept in 2009. If you follow this logic, then in the future the popularity of the Duster should grow even faster, because the restyling of 2013 is the work of another Russian designer, Evgeny Tkachev, who previously managed to light up while working on the Lada XRAY concept car ... but, unfortunately, the Russian version Duster restyling did not touch.

In Russia, sales of this budget crossover started in 2012, and by mid-2014, more than 150,000 crossovers had already been sold, which is the first indicator in terms of sales among all countries in which Duster is known. In light of this, it would be logical to produce the millionth copy in Russia, but the record holder's laurels went to the Brazilian Renault plant, where the anniversary crossover rolled off the assembly line at the beginning of April '14.

But enough of the lyrics, let's move on to more earthly things. Let's start with appearance. The exterior of this crossover, though not a trendsetter, but in its class looks quite soundly, neatly and quite modern. In terms of dimensions, the car is quite compact, which is very useful when maneuvering through Russian city yards, always crowded with parked cars. The body length of the crossover is 4315 mm, the length of the wheelbase is 2673 mm, the width of the body fits into the framework of 1822 mm, and the height is limited to 1625 mm. The ground clearance (clearance) of the crossover is 205 mm. The curb weight, depending on the configuration, varies from 1280 to 1450 kg.

If there are no special complaints about the exterior of the Duster, then the interior of the crossover clearly let us down. Even despite the special finish for Russia, which is noticeably richer than European, to call his interior successful - the language will not turn.

Of course, it is quite spacious for a compact crossover and there is much more space for rear passengers than, for example, in the Chevrolet Niva, but frankly cheap and simple plastic in the finish, which also constantly creaks, eventually spoils all the sensations. Adds negativity and not very convenient front panel, on which access to some controls is often blocked by the gearshift lever. The asset of the Renault Duster salon can only be recorded as excellent visibility and sound insulation, which is noticeably better than that of competitors in the price segment.

But the trunk of this crossover for a compact car is quite decent. For front-wheel drive modifications in the base, it holds 475 liters, which increase to 1636 liters with the rear row of seats folded down. All-wheel drive modifications offer only 408 liters of usable space in the base and 1570 liters with the second row seats folded down.

Specifications. In Russia, Renault Duster is offered with three options power plant. The role of the base engine is assigned to the K4M gasoline engine. It has 4 in-line cylinders with a total displacement of 1.6 liters (1598 cm³), a 16-valve DOHC timing mechanism and a distributed fuel injection system. The K4M engine complies with Euro 4 emission standards and at 5750 rpm produces its maximum power of 102 hp. The peak torque of the younger motor falls at around 145 Nm, which is already achieved at 3750 rpm. A 102-horsepower unit is aggregated with a 5-speed "mechanics" in the front-wheel drive modification and with a 6-speed manual transmission in the version with an all-wheel drive system. In the first case, the starting acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h takes about 11.8 seconds, and the average fuel consumption in mixed mode does not exceed 7.6 liters. In the second case, the starting acceleration will take a long 13.5 seconds, and fuel consumption will increase to 8.2 liters.

The senior gasoline engine in Russia is the in-line 4-cylinder F4R unit with a displacement of 2.0 liters (1998 cm³), which is also equipped with a 16-valve DOHC timing and a distributed fuel injection system. This engine is capable of producing up to 135 hp. power at 5500 rpm, as well as about 195 Nm of torque at 3750 rpm. As a gearbox for the F4R, the French offer a 6-speed "mechanics", available only on all-wheel drive versions, or a 4-band "automatic". Modifications Renault Duster with a "handle" accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in exactly 10.4 seconds, while consuming about 7.8 liters of fuel in a combined driving cycle. The front-wheel drive version of the crossover with an “automatic” picks up the first hundred on the speedometer in 11.2 seconds and spends an average of about 8.2 liters for every 100 kilometers. Similar figures for the all-wheel drive modification are 11.7 seconds and 8.7 liters.

Present in the line of Duster engines and a diesel power unit. In Russia, an in-line K9K engine with four cylinders is offered, the working volume of which is 1.5 liters (1461 cm³). The diesel boasts an 8-valve timing, direct fuel injection and turbocharging. Maximum engine power of 90 hp achieved at 4000 rpm, but already at 1750 rpm the engine is ready to provide the driver with all 200 Nm of available torque. The diesel is aggregated only with a 6-speed "mechanics", thanks to which it allows you to accelerate the crossover from 0 to 100 km / h in 15.6 seconds. As for fuel consumption, in the combined cycle diesel Renault Duster eats no more than 5.3 liters. Note that diesel engines are much better adapted to Russian winters than gasoline units, are not at all afraid of big frosts and are not so susceptible to fuel quality.

It is worth saying a few separate words about the automatic transmission. You won’t surprise anyone in the world with a front-wheel drive version of the Duster with an “automatic”, but an all-wheel drive “two-pedal” crossover is the prerogative of Russia exclusively. For the modification of the "Duster 4x4", the well-known and time-tested "automatic" DP2 is used. It was on its basis that the DP8 automatic transmission installed on the Duster 4 × 4 was designed. The new automatic transmission was developed specifically for Russia with the involvement of Russian specialists. Pre-series tests also took place in Russia, so the DP8 transmission is perfectly adapted to our conditions. Unlike the donor box, the “all-wheel drive” automatic transmission received an increased gear ratio of the main pair, a different control software and a separate cooling circuit to prevent overheating during slipping in mud or snow. It is with the latest innovation that the main embarrassments of the first test drives of the Renault Duster 4x4 with automatic transmission are associated, when a loosely fixed cooling pipe was torn off under high loads, for example, climbing uphill on difficult ground, which led to various breakdowns, up to a complete shutdown of the automatic transmission control electronics. Subsequently, the manufacturer made appropriate changes to the design, changing and strengthening the fastening of the branch pipe, so that at the moment this problem left in the past.

As mentioned above, this car is based on the Nissan B0 platform, which means it is the closest relative of the Nissan Juke and practically the twin brother of the new Nissan Terrano. However, the Nissan B0 platform for the Duster has been significantly improved, which made it possible to use the full nissan drive All Mode 4 × 4-i with electromagnetic clutch, as well as a different rear axle. The front suspension of the crossover is independent, made on the basis of MacPherson struts. At the rear, two suspension options are offered: a semi-independent torsion beam for front-wheel drive modifications and an independent multi-link design for all-wheel drive versions. The front wheels of the crossover use ventilated brakes with discs with a diameter of 269 mm in the initial trim levels and 280 mm in more expensive versions. On the rear wheels, the French limited themselves to 9-inch drum brakes. The rack and pinion steering mechanism is supplemented by a simple hydraulic booster.

In general, this is a solid "people's" car with decent driving performance in the city and excellent cross-country ability for a state-owned crossover, since the high ground clearance allows you not to be afraid of many obstacles. First of all, this applies to all-wheel drive modifications, which show themselves off-road no worse, and sometimes even better, than the popular Chevrolet Niva. In any case, in comparison with the VAZ brainchild, Renault Duster is practically not susceptible to diagonal hanging, and it is much easier to get out of side sliding. As for public roads, the Duster demonstrates good directional stability on asphalt (in configurations equipped with the ESP system), easily maneuvers, confidently copes with turns at speeds above average, but has some problems with emergency braking, demonstrating not the best performance in the class.

Options and prices. Russian version Duster is offered in four equipment options: Authentique, Expression, Privilege and Luxe Privilege.
The basic equipment of "Authentique" involves very meager equipment: 16-inch steel wheels, fabric interior, trunk light, immobilizer, ABS and driver's airbag. The more attractive Expression version will add roof rails, front power windows, a height-adjustable steering column, remote central locking, a standard audio system and height-adjustable front seat belts to this list.
The cost of Renault Duster in Russia starts at 590,000 rubles. The most affordable all-wheel drive version is priced at 672,000 rubles. A front-wheel drive modification with automatic transmission will cost at least 756,000 rubles, and for an all-wheel drive crossover with an “automatic”, dealers ask from 806,000 rubles. "Top Duster" is offered at a price of 868,000 rubles.
