By plane
To organize your holiday in Romania as comfortably as possible, it is best to take a plane, and with the current tension in Eastern Europe this is the only acceptable way to get to the country from Russia. Regardless of the point of departure, you will still have to fly through Moscow. Regular flights from the capital's terminals are organized by Aeroflot twice a week, and charter flights of Romanian airlines depart twice more. Flight time rarely exceeds 3 hours. Transport

It is better to travel between cities by bus - the fleet is relatively new, so safety of transportation is guaranteed. Every city has a conventional station that serves as a bus station, but not everywhere there are ticket offices, and you will have to pay for the trip at the entrance. Such a trip will cost around 120 lei, depending on the distance.
Trains in Romania are considered an outdated mode of transport, and they are not very popular among tourists due to regular luggage theft and other unpleasant incidents, especially on long-distance trains. The maximum ticket price does not exceed 200 lei, but this money does not pay for itself in terms of comfort.
Taxis, as in many countries, are the object of increased attention due to regular fraud. It is best to order a car through a dispatcher, then a fixed price of around 30 lei per kilometer is guaranteed. You can also hire a car with a driver through the ordering service; it will cost around 500 lei for a full daylight hours.
Money
The state currency is the Romanian new leu, RON. There are 100 baths in one lei. The country is not an official euro zone, but in Bucharest and major resorts you can increasingly see price tags in convertible European currency. American dollars are also accepted, but unofficially and at a shadow rate, completely unfavorable for tourists.
You can exchange money when going on vacation in Romania, both at official bank branches and at specialized points located in busy excursion areas. In such places, it is advised to change only in emergency cases, because foreigners are charged a commission of up to 15% of the total amount, which is unlikely to please anyone. There are also plenty of street currency traders, but 90% of their shops are outright fraudulent gangs.
The opening hours of any bank in the country are strictly regulated: from 9:00 to 12:00 from Monday to Friday. Some currency departments may be open until 15:00, but this only applies to the center of Bucharest and several other large resorts.
Cashless payment is popular among Romanians, but you need to know about the specifics of its operation. Most citizens have American Express cards in their hands, therefore a significant number of ATMs and terminals work only with it.
